like many other cities, we are congested in our parking. parking is really a challenge in the city. for people who own vehicles, and introducing people to car- sharing programs and ideas have been a wonderful experiment for us. as you know, we have been working to create not only public garages but also in congested neighborhoods. when a private company like bmw registers their interest in car- sharing, that is a complement to the direction we are heading to be morris -- more sustainable. i want to think bmw for being here. we are in negotiations to get us into our fleet so we can utilize. unless we do it with the latest technology, people will not appreciate the mayor driving a bmw. san francisco is known as a city of innovation. i think this building will be innovative. its mechanical uses, exterior were pieces passed along up here. excuse me. i was a little bit disappointed, though, not about the design, but the observation deck was not included. and i know that had been discussed and the department -- the city was maybe pushing towards that. i just want to throw out a little bit of few facts that i was able to look up just for contemplation and that is the new world trade center in new york will bring in $100 million per year in revenue from observation deck sales. placed like the empire state building brings in 3.8 million visitors per year, sears tower 1.4 million visitors per year, the hancock objecttry in chicago 6 million per year. it's not about the dollars, it's the impact and coming from a tourism background, the experience that we can give visitors to san francisco and this will be, in my opinion, a very different perspective of san francisco in a spot and elevation literally that you wouldn't be able to get to without being in a helicopte

i loved in cities in the south including texas and louisiana but i have never seen a good old boy system than right here. through the years i have watched many of my local neighbors including medical doctors throw up their hands and surrender to this harassment and oppression. but i believe we need to stand up to bullies, not just the children in recent documentaries but all bullies and the foundation shrewd billionaires and the well paid lobbyists and business friends and associates who stand to reap millions of dollars from their agenday bullies ask that we turn a blind eye and ignore their corrupting influence. i had some of you sitting here would stand up for citizens who are simply willing to present a balanced perspective. maybe you can't be bothered to think about my personal safety or my family or even my neighbors but i thought at least you would have wanted to find out about the men who attacked me for the soccer parents who all of you have been well informed to continue unwlittantly untrust their children to these violent criminals. thank you. >> is there any other public comm

at the thyme we have about 200 city-maintained datasets, but often times this data sets show our city departments in their best light. from my perspective we need datasets to improve upon imperfect situations to show where we can improve and where we can take risks and where we can be more entrepreneurial and hopefully leads to more effective government . so that end the legislation we're introduction today creates a chief data officer who is responsible for maintaining our city's focus on our open data policy. secondly, it requires city departments to designate data coordinators to work in conjunction with the officers. so again, every city department can be involved in moving forward an open data culture within san francisco. thirdly we need consistent standards in how data is presented both internally and externally. i look forward to moving forward these data policies that improve our city. i have a related legislation drafting request. yesterday when mayor lee and i along with our rec and park department announced the ladies and gentlemen of launch of an application to provide in
